What is R.I.O. por la Vida
In June 2006 the International Network of Prayer for Life – R.I.O. por la Vida - was born
R.I.O. por la Vida is a wonderful apostolate and we invite all prayer groups and others to join us in order to bring about what John Paul II asks of us in his encyclical letter Evangelium Vitae: "A great prayer for life is urgently needed, a prayer which will rise up throughout the world"...
Even though millions of unborn children have already died in abortion and by other procedures that destroy innocent human lives and probably many more will die; let us have faith and hope, because they form a choir of martyrs which from the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary send us their love, to inspire us to love our neighbor as ourselves. Especially our smallest and vulnerable neighbor: the unborn child. Though we pray especially for unborn children, this international network also prays for all human life, from conception to natural death, for respect of its dignity, for the conversion of pro-abortion people, etc.
Our Objective:
PUT INTO PRACTICE WHAT JOHN PAUL II REQUESTED IN EVANGELIUM VITAE :
"In this great endeavour to create a new culture of life we are inspired and sustained by the confidence that comes from knowing that the Gospel of life, like the Kingdom of God itself, is growing and producing abundant fruit (cf. Mk 4:26-29). There is certainly an enormous disparity between the powerful resources available to the forces promoting the "culture of death" and the means at the disposal of those working for a "culture of life and love". But we know that we can rely on the help of God, for whom nothing is impossible (cf. Mt. 19,26).
"Filled with this certainty, and moved by profound concern for the destiny of every man and woman, I repeat what I said to those families who carry out their challenging mission amid so many difficulties: A great prayer for life is urgently needed, a prayer which will rise up throughout the world. Through special initiatives and in daily prayer, may an impassioned plea rise to God, the Creator and lover of life, from every Christian community, from every group and association, from every family and from the heart of every believer.”
How do we perform our work?
THROUGH THIS SIMPLE BUT PERSEVERING WAY WE ALL UNITE IN PRAYER
WITH AND FOR THE WHOLE WORLD
